CONDUITS Activities (Work packages)

The main research activities are split in three main work packages (WP 1, WP 2 and WP 3). In WP1, an in-depth review of current transportation problems and ITS solutions in European cities lays the foundation to understand possible future solutions. WP 2 then reviews future ITS plans and compares these to probable technological advancements, which allows understanding the feasibility of plans. WP 3 is clearly the focus of CONDUITS; based on city context and future ITS plans, this work package establishes Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to understand whether there is a business case for particular technologies. WP 3 includes a comprehensive review of possible benefits achieved through ITS in terms of traffic efficiency, traffic safety, environmental aspects as well as other indirect impacts, such as those on land use and social integration.
